The Nordic Center of Excellence Cryosphere- Atmosphere Interactions in Changing Arctic Climate (NCoE CRAICC), and the Pan-Eurasian Experiment project (PEEX) are organizing the 2nd CRAICC - PEEX workshop in Helsinki (Finland) on 9-10 Feb 2015. The Workshop is scheduled to be held immediately before the 1st Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX) Science Conference & The 5th PEEX Meeting.
The PEEX initiative aims to gather the European, Russian and Chinese key players in the field of climate and Earth system science to plan jointly and in a coordinated manner the future research activities in the northern Europe, Russian and Chinese region. This workshop is the 2nd meeting in a workshop series funded by Nordforsk, and the topic is 'Carbon exchange in the soil/cryosphere – vegetation – atmosphere continuum'. The workshop aims at:
(i) enhancing the collaboration possibilities between different stakeholders;
(ii) designing the PEEX observation infrastructure in carbon exchange research; and
(iii) searching links between Nordic and Russian research and education activities on carbon exchange.

We have invited senior scientists and/or PhD students from several Russian institutes to participate in this Workshop. You are also warmly welcome to participate, and suggest a presentation regarding the topic.
The Nordforsk grant covers the coffee, lunch and conference dinner for participants, and reasonable travel expenses from Nordic countries.
